It all began, when I was nine years old. I was at the slaughter with my mother to buy meat for her birthday party. Then, I saw tails of pigs in the refrigerated counter. I believe it was the first time I really realised, what I was eating all over the time... I don’t wanted eat animals anymore, so I talked with my mother and we both became vegetarians.
Four years later, I made a small “club” with three people. We were all vegetarians and met every week to write protestletters, collect signatures and so on. But most of the time we only sat in front of the PC and watched videos from peta and other organisations. I realised that only being vegan can eleminate as much suffering as possible, but my mother was always against the vegan diet, I thought it would be very difficult to be the only vegan in the family and my friends were all vegetarians and didn’t take the view that they are murderers, so I pushed it to the back of my mind for the moment.
The “club” went to pieces because the others had other things to do, but my scruples about the vegetarian diet didn’t went away. I read a lot about the vegan diet, the arguments for and against it, but in my head, I already decided to become vegan. The last problem was my mother, but she was amazing open to conviction. She noticed that there’s no lack of vitamines or the like if you eat the right things. Meanwhile, she’s honestly enthusiastic about the delicate food! Smile

When I read it, I clearly see that children are pure and see the good and the evil, the adults and the society corrupt them. How can people learn to their children that animal can be killed, exploited, used. "You will understand later" is nothing else than brainwashing.

You understand it at 9 years when I stay blind for 25 years.

Yes. She's really wonderful.
It's not self-evident that parents are so open for other things and the wishes of their children. I believe it's more probably a exception.

It isn't your fault. It's noone particalar's fault, it's something within our society, something wich has it's own dynamic. Only thing that counts, is that we were able to escape from it. It's merely luck I think, you got to meet the right people...

Yes, I also know many children who at some point want to become vegetarians but mostly, they are soon re-corrupted..

Yes, there's some french forum about vegetarism or animal protection when we see some youngs who come to help us to convince their parents to let them stop eating carcass.

It's not easy when we see than a lot of people based themself concerning nutrional needs on Test on rats which are refuted for more than 20 years.
People say that animal protein are better than protein coming form soya. It's true for rats, but false for human. Some says too than we have to mix different sources of protein, studies show it is false and that a diet based on protein coming from soya is absolutely safe.
